How do commissions work?

A commission is a new pattern made for you from your brief.

  1. On the artist's profile, tap Work with [artist name] and send your brief.
  2. The artist sends an offer: the files, the number of colorways, how many concept sketches you will see first, how many revision rounds are included, the delivery time, and one design fee.
  3. You sign the agreement and pay. Patterned holds the money.
  4. Concepts: the artist posts concept sketches (previews only). Tap Choose a concept to pick a direction. If you want a change to the concepts first, you can use a revision round.
  5. The artist builds the finished pattern from the concept you chose and delivers the files.
  6. You accept the files (or ask for a revision). The artist is then paid.
