As an artist, what platform fees apply to my licensed patterns, and how much will I earn?

When you sell a license on Patterned, your earnings depend on your artist status and sales volume.

• Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout and paid by the buyer. This does not reduce your earnings.

  Patterned takes a platform fee:

  • Standard artists: 35% of the sale price
  • Pro artists: 25% of the sale price
• Pro artists can reduce their platform fee even further once their total sales volume reaches certain thresholds through our License Rewards Program.

Example breakdown

If you sell a pattern license for $100:

• Buyer pays $100 + any applicable tax
• Platform fee (standard artist): $35 → You receive $65
• Platform fee (Pro artist): $25 → You receive $75
