How do custom alteration and change requests work?

Custom alterations and change requests let buyers request changes before completing a license purchase. The entire process happens inside the messaging system so everything is clear, secure, and trackable.

How it works

  1. If the buyer selects I have a custom request in licensing message bubble then an automatic system message gets sent notifying both parties about the selection.
  2. The buyer and artist communicate directly in the conversation to agree on the requested changes (a color swap, resizing elements, removing details, or even price change requests).
  3. When ready, the artist sends a Payment Request through the Quick Access Menu (+) (with or without extra fees for the alterations).
  4. The buyer clicks Pay and completes the payment request.
  5. Once payment is confirmed, the artist is prompted to provide access to files, either by uploading new files as requested in the licensing arrangement, or access to the default files already uploaded for that pattern.
  6. The uploaded files appear directly in the conversation and are available for download
  7. When everything is finalized, the artist clicks Mark order as complete to close the transaction

✨ This flow makes sure the artist is paid before files are delivered and the buyer receives their updated pattern in a clear, trackable way.
