How do I set or change my default licensing preferences?

Your default licensing preferences are the license types, terms and prices that apply when you enable licensing on a pattern. You can change them for any single pattern later.

To set your defaults

1. Go to Settings → Licensing → License Preferences.
2. Tick the license types you want to offer:
   • Personal – non-exclusive, not for products for sale.
   • Commercial – non-exclusive, for products for sale in any industry.
   • Exclusive – unlimited use; no further licensing of the pattern.
3. For each type, tick the terms you offer (1 year, 2 years, 3 years, Unlimited) and enter a price in the allowed range.
4. (Optional) Tick Sell All My Patterns Exclusively on Patterned if your patterns are not for sale anywhere else.
5. Click Save Default Preferences.

Patterns that use your defaults update straight away. Patterns with their own settings do not change.

Custom requests: you do not need a setting for these. Any artist with a connected Trolley payout account can receive custom licensing requests.
